It's All In Your Head

Synopsis

A group of sixth-year students are given a week to complete an assignment by their English teacher on the topic of their dreams and aspirations. However, instead of just writing about them, the students spend their week putting them into action through elaborate daydreams. Rosie dreams about being in a relationship with her close friend Ryan, while Ryan dreams about coming to terms with his sexual orientation. Meanwhile, Saoirse dreams of becoming a published author of fantasy novels, but her controlling mother isn't too keen to let her leave the county to pursue her dream college course. The play is an experimental piece, which investigates the role of daydreams in planning for the future. It also looks at themes such as bullying, lad culture and growing up.
